Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces Tougaloo College Awarded Over $2.2 Million From National Science Foundation

Thompson (MS-02) is pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Tougaloo College a grant totaling $2,245,846.00 for the project titled “Implementation Project: Strengthening the STEM Pathway through a Holistic Multi-layer Approach.” The award, under the direction of Dr. Manliang Feng, will begin on August 1, 2025. This funding will support a comprehensive institutional effort aimed at increasing the number of students earning undergraduate degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while also building research capacity in STEM education.
