Carey Statement on Passing Annual Defense Authorization Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15) released the following statement after voting to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The final vote was 312-112. “I was proud to pass this year’s NDAA, a critical bill that sets our defense priorities, supports our warfighters, and invests in the future of American military deterrence to keep our nation and our citizens safe. I was pleased to see that this year’s package includes critical bipartisan priorities, including a 3.8% pay increase for service members and robust efforts to boost shipbuilding here in America. By passing this bill, we are investing in continued security at home and abroad, and I look forward to seeing it signed into law.” # # #
