Kean Secures $850K for Mine Hill Township Transite Water Main Replacement

August 17, 2026 Press Release (August 17, 2026) MINE HILL, NJ – Last week, Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) visited Mine Hill Township to view the site for the water main replacement project. Congressman Kean secured $850,000 in a key House Appropriations bill for Mine Hill Township through the Community Project Funding process, which will be used to replace 5,307 linear feet of transite water main. “These pipes have been in the ground for over 40 years, contain asbestos, and are starting to fail,” said Congressman Kean . “I am pleased to secure this federal funding to ensure that Mine Hill families have reliable access to high-quality water for decades to come.” “I can't thank Congressman Kean enough for his care and concern about the people of Mine Hill and the people of the Seventh District,” said Mayor Sam Morris . “His hard work and relentless efforts to secure significant funding for our water safety project is appreciated more than we can express. Replacing the water main will provide much needed peace of mind for all of us here in Mine Hill.” In July, Congressman Kean announced that 18 Community Project Funding requests made by his office totaling $17,765,906, are included in key House funding bills for the upcoming fiscal year.
