BURLINGTON, VT—U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.)tonight released the following statement on the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey:
“President Trump and his totally disgraceful Justice Department—led by Attorney General Pam Bondi—has reached a new low by indicting former FBI Director James Comey. The basis of the indictment is straightforward: President Trump regards Mr. Comey as a political adversary. This Justice Department is not only a political arm of the White House, but a retribution machine for a vengeful president. America deserves better.”
