McClain’s Statement on New Fighter Mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base

WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) released the following statement after President Trump announced a Strategic Basing Decision to station a new F-15EX fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base: “Selfridge has untapped potential, and I have consistently advocated for new missions and resources to strengthen the base and its workforce. I applaud this announcement from President Trump—it is a major win for our service members, Michigan families, and our national defense,” McClain said . “This new mission will be a powerful asset for the Air Force. I will continue working with President Trump to ensure Michigan remains at the forefront of America’s military strength.” The decision will station approximately 20 F-15EXs in addition to the already planned bed down of KC-46As the base is set to receive. The F-15EXs will begin arriving in FY28, according to current plans.
