Husted meets with Ohio job creators, business leaders and sportsmen in Marietta, Columbus, Delaware

“From workers and job creators to sportsmen, they are committed to making Ohio an even better place to live and work.” COLUMBUS – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) visited the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition Support Center in Marietta and met with members of the Columbus business community at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. He also visited Black Wing Shooting Center in celebration of National Shooting Sports Month. “The Ohioans I met with this week are all examples of the leadership that makes our state strong. From workers and job creators to sportsmen, they are committed to making Ohio an even better place to live and work. I always enjoy the time I get to spend on the ground with Ohioans, hearing their priorities and taking those conversations back with me as I represent them in the U.S. Senate, ” said Husted. At the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition Support Center, Husted held a roundtable with industry partners, local elected officials and education partners on the importance of strengthening Ohio’s workforce. This visit builds on Husted’s work to equip students with the skills necessary to earn high-paying jobs, strengthening the workforce. As Ohio’s lieutenant governor, Husted expanded career technical education to give more Ohio students access to skills training that enabled them to graduate high school career-ready. He also pioneered TechCred and the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program, a job training program that provides every Ohioan with access to the credentials they need to earn good jobs. Husted also helped pass Workforce Pell Grants into law this summer. Workforce Pell Grants will soon make short-term, high-quality training programs eligible for federal financial aid. Husted also joined members of the Columbus business community for a discussion at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce on economic development and efforts to support Ohio businesses and job creators. Additionally, Husted visited Black Wing Shooting Center in celebration of National Shooting Sports Month. Black Wing is a family-owned indoor and outdoor shooting range. Husted is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, hunting and recreational shooting sports. These visits build on Husted’s work to help Ohio workers, manufacturers and small businesses. In the Senate, Husted is supporting: Made in America Manufacturing Financing Act : This bill would expand access to growth capital for small U.S.-based manufacturers. Investing in All of America Act: This bill would expand access to capital for small businesses in rural and low-income communities, as well as those in the manufacturing and critical technology sectors. AI for Mainstreet Act: This bill would provide training, guidance and support to American small businesses looking to implement AI into their businesses. Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act: This bill would eliminate the requirement for small businesses to report beneficial ownership information to the Treasury Department, which is burdensome and overreaching. Husted also supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which includes major provisions for small businesses and their workforce: Makes the 20% small business tax deduction permanent. This will deliver $4,600 in average tax relief to 8 million entrepreneurs around the country. This will create 1.2 million jobs annually for the next 10 years. Doubles the small business expensing limits for new investments in machinery, equipment and software. Includes a $7,000 tax cut for 12 million small business owners. Cuts taxes on tips and overtime, saving tipped and overtime workers up to $1,750 per year.
