Welch Brings ‘Common Grounds with Senator Welch’ Listening Session to Grand Isle County

SOUTH HERO, VT –Today,U.S. Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.)hosted a‘CommonGrounds with Senator Welch’listening session at the Worthen Library in South Hero. The Senator joined local leaders and community members to discuss making Vermont communities more affordable, climate resilient and healthier. He also discussed the war in Iran, the out-of-control influence of money in politics, and pushing back on President Trump’s efforts to undermine our constitutional separation of powers.
“The challenge that we face in this country is always about us living up to our ideals. We can never let go of our fight for our equality and the rights of all people. We’ve got to keep at it and keep up the fight. As one of your U.S. senators I feel so blessed to work with every Vermonter to make our state stronger and bring Vermont values to D.C.,”said Senator Welch.

Senator Welch recently secured$500,000in new federal funding for the Town of South Hero to help restore and upgrade the Old White Meeting House, the oldest municipal building in Grand Isle County. The funding was secured by Senator Welch through the Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) process.
