WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senator Jim Justice celebrated Dominion Energy’s announcement of their plan to construct a new natural gas power plant at Mt. Storm that will run alongside the existing coal plant. “I’ve been saying it since the beginning: energy is the lifeblood of West Virginia. Dominion Energy’s investment in a state-of-the-art natural gas plant cements our position as America’s energy leader. Under the Trump administration’s America First energy vision, we aren’t just participating in the national energy renaissance—we’re driving it. BACKGROUND: This historic investment will: Add 1,400+ construction jobs and 2,490 jobs total statewide. Bring in around $259 million annually in local economic output for Grant and Tucker counties. $400 million in statewide economic activity during construction Create nearly 150 jobs once the plant is operational.
