If anyone in the affected area needs any help contacting or accessing resources from a federal agency, do not hesitate to contact the Office of Senator Jacky Rosen by phone at 775-337-0110, or by email at nnv.cs@rosen.senate.gov. “When disasters like these strike, it is critical that we come together as a community to support each other,” said Senator Rosen. “That’s why I’m releasing a list of resources Nevadans can use during this time, and reminding everyone that my office stands ready to provide any assistance with federal agencies. My heart goes out to the families in Washoe County who are being affected by the Hawk Fire, and I urge everyone to continue heeding the evacuation orders and directions from first responders. All school closures in Washoe County will be at washoeschools.net Food Assistance The U.S. Department of Agriculture has given Nevadan SNAP recipients affected by wildfires more time to report loss of food and request replacement SNAP benefits, with the last day to submit now being August 28th, 2026.
