Ernst Marks National Small Business Week, Honors American Entrepreneurs

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Chair Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Ranking Member Ed Markey (D-Mass.) led 88 of their colleagues in declaring this week “National Small Business Week” to recognize the innovators and job creators who power our economy. “Iowa innovators drive our nation forward, and I’m proud to recognize their tremendous contributions by designating National Small Business Week,” said Ernst. “I’m committed to championing American small businesses and cutting bureaucratic red tape to put them first. Look no further than the Working Families Tax Cuts , which ensure small business owners keep more of their hard-earned money in their own pockets and unlock even more opportunities to grow and unleash the Golden Age of America.” “In Massachusetts and across the country, small businesses are the backbone of our communities—creating jobs, driving local economies, and enriching Main Streets. From the shopkeepers and makers who ignited a revolution to the inventors and immigrants who today are pursuing the American Dream, small businesses have shaped the first 250 years of our nation’s history,” said Markey. “I am committed to ensuring America’s innovators and entrepreneurs, including the more than 730,000 small businesses in the Bay State, have the tools and support they need to compete, grow, and thrive for the next 250 years.” Watch Senator Ernst celebrate National Small Business Week here . There are more than 34.7 million small businesses in America, accounting for more than 99.9% of all businesses and employing 45.9% of American workers, or about 59 million people.
