Rep. Flood Writes Ethics Committee Regarding Rep. Omar’s Reprehensible Speech and Conduct

Image September 19, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood (NE) previewed his intention to file a formal complaint with the House Committee on Ethics against Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN) in a letter. In his letter to the Ethics Committee, Rep. Flood cites a wide variety of instances of conduct and speech he believes reflect poorly on the House and violate the House’s code of conduct. “I am a strong defender of the United States Constitution and every citizen's right to the freedom of speech. While Representative Omar maintains these fundamental liberties, she is Member of the House of Representatives and must abide by the rules that govern this body,” wrote Rep. Flood in his letter. “Her pattern of behavior clearly demonstrates she has not acted in a manner that reflects creditably on the House, violating the Official Code of Conduct of the House of Representatives. I do not take this matter lightly, and Representative Omar must be held accountable. Based on the points enumerated in this letter, I urge the House Committee on Ethics investigate Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota for violating Clause 1 of Rule XXIII of the Official Code of Conduct of the House of Representatives. I also intend to submit a formal complaint to the House Committee on Ethics.” A copy of his letter can be found by clicking here . Issues : What Rep. Flood is doing in Congress
