Representative Tran Supports Bipartisan Resolution to Honor Fallen Officers During National Police Week
Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Derek Tran (CA-45) joined a bipartisan congressional resolution memorializing law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in commemoration of National Police Week.

“Hundreds of thousands of public safety officials across our country serve and protect our communities every day, often at great personal risk. This bipartisan resolution honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities safe and ensures that the legacy of our fallen heroes will never be forgotten,” said Representative Tran. “I couldn’t be prouder to stand with our local law enforcement heroes during National Police Week, and I’ll never stop fighting for the resources they need to keep themselves, and our families, safe.”
The resolution, introduced by Representatives Michael Guest (MS-03) and Chris Pappas (NH-01), honors the service and sacrifice of the 363 peace officers killed in the line of duty in 2025, and acknowledges the need for adequate training and resources to protect law enforcement officers as they work to protect the public.

Tran helped to introduce the bipartisan CARE for First Responders Act to expand counseling and mental health services for first responders, and has cosponsored several bills to support and enhance officer safety and wellness on the job, including:
Representative Tran secured over $3 million for crime prevention efforts in Southern California following the passage of bipartisan government spending legislation through the House. He has also signed onto multiple letters expressing support for local public safety efforts, including letters opposing the unjust deployment of federal forces to patrol U.S. cities and advocating for increased resources for state and local law enforcement agencies to perform their duties safely and effectively.
