Reed Statement on August Jobs Report
WASHINGTON, DC –U.S. Senator Jack Reed today issued the following statement on the terribleAugust jobs report:
“Nobody wants to see these kinds of dismal job numbers. But the way to improve them isn’t to deny them, fake them, fire the statistician, or claim they’ll be different in a year -- it’s to change course. Stop the chaos and the tariff-driven inflation President Trump himself is causing. Stop pressuring the Fed to prioritize President Trump’s personal and political interests over the interests of American families, and stop threatening to turn America’s free market economy and monetary policy into a banana republic type system. If the Trump Administration continues its anti-worker, anti-Main Street agenda then it will drag America into a recession.”
