Hoyle Statement on House Resolution 719 For Immediate Release: September 19, 2025 WASHINGTON, D.C.  – Today, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle (OR-04) released the following statement after voting “Present” on Republican’s partisan House Resolution 719. “ Political violence has no place in our society. From the murders of Charlie Kirk to the Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota – it’s time for leaders to lower the temperature and work together. This is why I strongly support Congressman Veasey’s resolution that condemns these threats straight on. I am disappointed that House Republicans rushed forward with a divisive, partisan version that failed to meet that standard.
