October 1, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. – On October 1, 2026, U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez (NM-02) released the following statement on the flooding emergency in New Mexico: “I am monitoring the flood damage across our state and closely working with state and local officials to move disaster efforts along as efficiently as possible, including re-opening key transportation routes and ensuring our communities are safe as the road to recovery begins,” said Vasquez. “I stand with the communities of Hatch, Rincon, Socorro, Magdalena, Salem, Garfield and the rest of our district affected by the floods this week.” You can find additional resources about returning home after a disaster, financial recovery, replacing documents and more at vasquez.house.gov/disaster-resources .
