Sen. Moran Applauds Trump Administration Decision to Permit Nationwide, Year-Round E15 Fuel Sales Moran is a longtime advocate for year-round E15 & has introduced legislation to make it permanent Mar 25 2026 WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry – today applauded the decision by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to extend the nationwide sale of E15 fuel throughout the summer of 2026: “Today’s announcement is welcome news. Expanding access to this affordable fuel blend will open markets for Kansas farmers and ethanol producers, support American energy independence and provide consumers with more affordable options at the pump. I have long supported allowing the year-round, nationwide sale of E15, and I applaud the administration’s action to help meet our nation’s energy needs and lower fuel costs for the American people. While this is an important step, Congress must act to provide a long-term solution by making this policy permanent.” Items to note: Last spring, President Trump approved E15 sales throughout the summer of 2025, following requests from Sen. Moran and his colleagues that the administration take this action to support America’s energy security and lower fuel costs for consumers while leveraging U.S. agriculture. Sen. Moran joined his colleagues in introducing the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act , bipartisan legislation that would allow the year-round, nationwide sale of E15 fuel to end years of regulatory uncertainty and prevent a patchwork of uneven state regulation. In floor remarks yesterday, Sen. Moran highlighted the need for year-round E15 to help expand and diversify domestic energy production. # # #
