Holding Fraudsters Accountable

Image June 12, 2026 e-Newsletter Archive Holding Fraudsters Accountable Each year, fraudsters steal billions of dollars from hardworking Americans and taxpayer-funded programs, with the Government Accountability Office estimating up to $521 billion being lost due to fraudulent payments. As Chair of the Education and Workforce Committee, I helped usher through the passage of the No Aid for Ghost Students Act , which prevents fraudsters who use fake or stolen identities from collecting federal student aid. This common-sense legislation strengthens oversight, improves identity verification, and stops fraud before it happens , ensuring taxpayer dollars go to programs that benefit everyday Americans, not criminals stealing from the system. Upholding Parental Rights America's education system should be working for American families and students, not pushing a radical ideological agenda. Under my leadership as Chair, this week the House Education and Workforce Committee held a hearing on superintendents breaking trust in America's schools . For too long, our public school systems have excluded parents from major decisions, compromised student privacy, and promoted radical gender ideology that harms students. America's families deserve better, and parents have a right to make the decision regarding what is best for their students' education. As Chair, I remain committed to standing up for parental rights and helping students succeed. Preserving Our National Parks Our national parks provide abundant recreational opportunities for families and help support local economies across the country. As millions of Americans are preparing to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, I was proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Great American Outdoors Act 250 to make historic investments in our national parks and public lands. The legislation would enhance access, invest in vital maintenance projects, support 72,500 jobs across the country, and revitalize rural economies. Raising Motorcycle Awareness As a chair of the Congressional Motorcycle Caucus and a fellow rider, I helped host the third annual Ride to Work Day at the U.S. Capitol to promote motorcycle safety and awareness. This year's event was a great opportunity to bring the motorcycle community together to raise awareness for the millions of riders across America while enjoying our nation's rich history during our ride around the monuments. Thank you to the U.S. Park Police Motorcycle Unit for ensuring everyone who participated had a safe and fun ride!
