Klobuchar Statement on FTC Suing LiveNation-Ticketmaster
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) released the following statement in response to the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) decision to sue LiveNation-Ticketmaster over its predatory practices.
“I am glad the FTC is holding Live Nation-Ticketmaster accountable for failing to protect fans on their platform and using their monopoly power to charge more than $16 billion in hidden fees. Ticketmaster’s predatory practices — which have put tickets to see your favorite artist or cheer on your favorite team out of reach for too many Americans — must end. We need to put fans first.”
Klobuchar has long led efforts to protect consumers and promote competition in the ticketing industry, including leading a hearing in January 2023, following the Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour ticketing fiasco.
