WASHINGTON, D.C. –
Today, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin delivered remarks in support of the bipartisan War Powers Resolution that would bar further U.S. military action in Venezuela without congressional authorization. This comes after President Trump’s actions in Venezuela last weekend, and the capture of Nicolas Maduro.
“Whether you go in trying to do a limited military operation or not, at the end of the day, it’s American sons and daughters from places like Michigan that are called up to create calm, to create stability. This Administration has been very open about the fact that they now believe they own Venezuela. I stand here as a Senator, yes. But also, as someone who has seen this movie in other places,”
said Slotkin on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
