Hoeven: FAA Awards Nearly $4 Million to Hector International Airport

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded nearly $4 million to Hector International Airport in Fargo in support of its Terminal Expansion Project. The funds are made available under the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program, one of the multiple federal programs that Hoeven has worked to support as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee in order to help maintain, update and expand North Dakota’s airports. Today’s award comes as the latest in Hoeven’s efforts to fulfill the project’s federal cost share for Fargo’s terminal expansion, now having secured more than $39 million for the effort to date.
“The Fargo-Moorhead region has grown rapidly, both in terms of people and in economic activity. In fact, the metro’s population has grown by nearly 35 percent since the airport received its last major update in 2008,” said Hoeven. “That’s why we are working to fund awards like today’s $4 million grant to make Hector International’s Terminal Expansion Project a reality. Doing so is needed to meet the demands of this dynamic region.”
In addition to the funding for Hector International, the FAA has made the following AIG awards to airports across North Dakota:
