Klobuchar, Smith Announce Federal Funding for United Way of Central Minnesota Unfrozen
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Tina Smith (D-MN) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has unfrozen $1,591,189 of funding for United Way of Central Minnesota.
“United Way of Central Minnesota helps Minnesotans access education, health care, and the financial resources necessary for them to thrive,”
said Klobuchar.
“I fought to unfreeze this funding so that they can continue their vital work.”
“This funding never should have been frozen in the first place. It’s just another example of the administration’s attempt to recklessly cut funding that put real people at risk of losing all the resources places like the United Way for Central Minnesota provides,”
said Smith.
“I’m glad we pushed to get this money flowing again, because the families who depend on it for education, health care, access to healthy food, and homelessness assistance need this funding more than billionaires need tax cuts.”
