Reed Statement on Pam Bondi Being Ousted from DOJ
WASHINGTON, DC --Today, after President Trump announced he is replacing Pam Bondi as U.S. Attorney General with her chief deputy, Todd Blanche, who previously served as Trump’s personal defense counsel and legal go-between to notorious convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, U.S. Senator Jack Reed(D-RI) issued the following statement:
“From the time she was announced as President Trump’s second choice to lead DOJ, Attorney General Bondi's time in office was marred by scandal, partisanship, and a severe lack of independence. She routinely undermined the rule of law and sought to obscure the truth.
“Ms. Bondi's ouster should not excuse her from having to testify before Congressional committees about the Epstein files or her actions related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.”
