Senator Kim Statement on House Republicans Taking Five Weeks to Pass Bipartisan DHS Funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) released the following statement after the House passed the Senate’s bipartisan bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with zero additional funding for United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP): “Five weeks. We sent this bipartisan bill to Speaker Johnson five weeks ago. Over a month of inaction when the security of the American people is on the line is a complete failure of leadership. “The work isn’t done. Americans don’t want another dime to ICE or CBP without real reforms and accountability; if Congressional Republicans are going to try to jam billions more to these lawless agencies, we’re going to stand up and do everything we can to stop them.” The Senate passed the funding bill, sending it to the House of Representatives, on March 27, 2026. ###
