Congressman Pat Harrigan Announces Winners of 2025 Congressional Art Competition

May 2, 2025 Press Release Contact: Lexi Kranich (814) 380-4408 WASHINGTON, D.C.— Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10) announced that Rachael Bliss, a student at West Forsyth High School, has been selected as the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for North Carolina’s Tenth District. Rachael’s piece, “The Two Sides,” was selected by a panel of independent judges and will be sent to Washington, D.C. where it will hang in the halls of Congress. “Rachael’s work is a powerful reflection of creativity, skill, and American spirit,” said Congressman Harrigan. “I’m proud to have it represent North Carolina’s Tenth District in the U.S. Capitol, where it will be seen every day by fellow constituents, Members of Congress, and visitors from around the world. Rachael and her work, as well as every young artist who participated in this year’s competition, truly exemplifies the talent and patriotism that make our communities so special.” Image Congressman Harrigan also announced the second and third place winners of the annual art competition. Jalyn Wray’s “War Birds Over Carolina” and Lucy Chappin’s “Carolina Sunset” will be proudly displayed in Congressman Harrigan’s Washington, D.C. and Hickory offices, respectively.
