Congressman Pat Harrigan Votes to Require Public Reporting of Special Interest Aliens at the Border

This bill requires the Department of Homeland Security to publish monthly reports on the number and nationalities of special interest aliens encountered trying to illegally enter the United States. “When individuals flagged as potential national security threats are showing up at our border, the American people deserve full transparency,” said Congressman Harrigan. “This bill puts an end to the secrecy and gives Congress and the public the information we need to protect the country.” The legislation mandates monthly reporting of all special interest alien encounters, broken down by location and method of entry—including land, air, and sea. It also requires DHS to include retroactive data going back to January 2021.
