What I’m hearing from Ohioans
Dear friends and neighbors, The best way for me to represent Ohioans in the U.S. Senate is to hear directly from them about their priorities and concerns. Recently, I hosted a telephone town hall with Ohioans across the southwestern part of the state to discuss the issues that matter most to them. You can find office locations and contact information at the bottom of this update or at www.husted.senate.gov . If you are in need of casework assistance or help navigating a federal agency, please complete this form. While my team cannot ask an agency to circumvent its rules, force it to decide a question in a constituent’s favor, or change a decision that is already final, we can make inquiries about the status of a situation and review the steps taken to ensure an Ohioan’s case is being handled fairly, properly, and in a timely manner. On our recent call, we discussed a wide range of topics, including fraud, AI, foster care, and creating more opportunities for Ohioans to achieve the American Dream. These are all issues I am actively working on in the Senate, and I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from the people I serve. During the town hall, I also asked participants for their thoughts on manufacturing, border security, and upward mobility. Here’s what they had to say: I have long supported policies that create more Made-in-America and Made-in-Ohio. Ohio is the manufacturing engine that keeps our nation moving forward. I am working on several efforts in the Senate to unleash domestic manufacturing and help businesses secure more access to capital. Under the Biden administration, millions of criminal illegal immigrants flooded our borders and entered our country completely unchecked. I’m supporting policies to enforce the rule of law, deport criminals, secure the border, and keep our communities safe. A benefits cliff occurs when someone receiving public assistance earns more through a raise, promotion, or additional work hours, only to lose benefits worth more than their increased income . My Upward Mobility Act would help address this problem by creating a pathway out of poverty for lower-income earners. We’re here to help Customer service is my top priority.
