Senator Rosen Statement Celebrating National Law Enforcement Day

WASHINGTON, DC –Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement celebrating National Law Enforcement Day. Earlier this week, Senator Rosenannouncedthat a bipartisan bill she helped pass to expand access to federal support for the families of law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders who pass away or become permanently disabled from service-related cancers was signed into law.
“Nevada’s brave law enforcement officers put their lives at risk every day to keep our communities safe. Each day, they put on their uniform knowing the dangers: whether it’s a routine traffic stop or a domestic dispute, any situation can escalate in the blink of an eye. And yet, they do it anyway because their commitment to service is stronger than the risks they face,”said Senator Rosen.“They should be celebrated and recognized for their work today and every day. In the Senate, I’ve been working across party lines to deliver all the federal support our local law enforcement community needs and deserves.”
Senator Rosen has fought to support Nevada’s law enforcement officers and first responders. In 2024, Senator Rosensecuredmore than $7 million in funding for Nevada law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety projects. Last Congress, Senator Rosenintroduced bipartisan legislationto improve federal mental health support programs for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other emergency response personnel.
