WASHINGTON— Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)announcedhe is introducing legislation that would create a new inspector general to uncover fraud in federal programs that fund certain social services. The legislation comes after a federal prosecutorrevealedhalf or more of the roughly $18 billion in federal funds spent on social services in Minnesota since 2018 may have been stolen.
