Senate Ethics Committee Dismisses Complaint Against Senator Gallego

WASHINGTON – The Senate Ethics Committee has dismissed the complaint filed against Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL-13) in April. “The dismissal by the Ethics Committee reaffirms what I have said about these accusations from the beginning: they were right-wing conspiracies peddled by far-right activists like Anna Paulina Luna, the White House, and their allies. I look forward to an apology from Rep. Luna for weaponizing the ethics process while refusing to investigate historic corruption that’s making life harder for families. In the meantime, I will continue fighting for Arizonans and holding Trump Republicans accountable for high costs and new wars,” said Senator Gallego . In a letter formally dismissing the complaint, the Committee noted that it reached its determination after an extensive investigation that included examining information provided in the complaint, statements from individuals named in the complaint, Federal Election Commission reports, House and Senate expenditure reports, and the information provided in Senator Gallego’s responses. The dismissal also notes Senator Gallego’s prompt contact with the Committee following media reports of the allegations and appreciation for his full cooperation with the Committee throughout the investigation.
