U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)releasedthe following statement today, commemorating the fourteenth anniversary of the EF5 tornado that touched down in Joplin, Mo.,leavinga trail of devastation and claiming the lives of 161 Missourians.
14 years ago, an EF5 tornado devastated Joplin & claimed the lives of 161 Missourians.Today we remember all those we lost on that fateful day & the resilience Joplin showed in the aftermath of the storm. And thank you to our first responders—14 years ago and every day since
Senator Hawley spent this past Monday on the ground in St. Louis,meetingwith victims andsurveyingthe damage inflicted by this past Friday’s tornadoes that struck Eastern Missouri.
