ICYMI: Harriet Hageman Holds Roundtable With FBI Director Kash Patel At University Of Wyoming

Image October 30, 2026 Press Release Washington, DC – On Wednesday, Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (WY-AL) joined FBI Director Kash Patel for a roundtable at the University of Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium to discuss the wide range of federal law enforcement operations across the state. Rep. Hageman and Director Patel talked for roughly a half hour about highway safety and new technologies impacting public safety. In 2025, Rep. Hageman voted to include the Safer Skies Act to the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act giving state and local law enforcement authority to disable drones that represent a security risk around major sporting events. Last week, the FBI and Department of Justice also released the results of an initiative designed to find Murdered and Missing Indigenous Persons (MMIP) and crack down on reservation violence. Known as Operation Not Forgotten 2026, and carried out between April 1 and September 30, federal officials made 118 arrests, issued federal charges for 41 individuals, recovered 72 weapons, and located 25 child victims. “This year’s Operation Not Forgotten continued this FBI’s largest commitment to Indian Country in the history of the Bureau,” Patel said in a DOJ press release . “The results were outstanding – from April 1 through September 30, this FBI worked more than 500 cases, a 59% increase from last year’s operation; 118 arrests, a 123% increase; and 41 subjects charged federally, a 52% increase. This is in addition to 25 child victims identified or located and 72 weapons recovered. These involved life-saving operations, with cases including child sexual abuse, physical assault and abuse, domestic violence, CSAM cases, and more.” Rep. Hageman and Director Patel discussed the FBI’s priorities to address crime on tribal lands, often exacerbated by illegal alien drug cartels, during a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee last year.
