Davidson County: A Hub of Strength, Growth, and Opportunity

June 5, 2026 Blog Post Hello, it’s Congressman Matt Van Epps. I represent Tennessee’s Seventh Congressional District! Over the past several months, I’ve had the privilege of visiting several locations in Davidson County! Since taking office, I have been active throughout Davidson County, prioritizing community support and regional growth. My recent engagements include visiting the Second Harvest Food Bank in the wake of Winter Storm Fern and touring the Nashville DEA lab. In addition to attending the 52nd Tennessee Prayer Breakfast at Lipscomb University and hosting my first Service Academy Nominee Reception, I also met with leadership at the Nashville Veterans Medical Center and Vanderbilt University to discuss the future of local healthcare and innovation. Find out more about these visits here , here , and here . As the geographic and economic center of the state, Davidson County stands at the forefront of innovation and provides opportunities for people throughout our district and beyond. Its energy drives Tennessee forward, while its neighborhoods reflect a rich history that stands the test of time. From the home of Music City and great institutions of higher education like Vanderbilt, Belmont, and Meharry, to the hub of commerce, industry, and transportation, Davidson County is an integral part of Tennessee. I’m proud to call Davidson County home and grateful for the opportunities it has provided my family and me. “Second Harvest was honored to host Congressman Van Epps at our Nashville distribution center. Hunger remains a persistent issue across Tennessee, and moments like these—when our elected officials visit and sincerely engage with our mission—remind us that we are not in this fight alone. The Congressman took time to speak with our staff and volunteers, and even rolled up his sleeves to volunteer at a Mobile Pantry that provided over 1,000 households with dairy, fresh produce, and shelf-stable grocery staples in response to Winter Storm Fern. That kind of personal connection to the people and the mission means everything in the fight against hunger. We appreciate the Congressman's time and dedication to this community, and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide Tennesseans the resources they need to thrive.” -Nancy Keil, President & CEO, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee I am so proud to represent Davidson County.
