Congressman Joyce Votes to Keep the Government Open, Protect America’s National Security

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025.

“As Chairman of the House Appropriations Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee, I have worked diligently and in good faith alongside Chairman Cole and my colleagues throughout the FY25 appropriations process. Unfortunately, the clock has run out. I share the frustration of many of my colleagues and constituents that we were not able to reach a final agreement in a timelier manner.

While not ideal, a continuing resolution is now the only pathway forward to avoid a disastrous and costly government shutdown. By enacting this legislation through the end of the fiscal year, House Republicans are increasing military readiness, providing the largest pay raise for junior enlisted service members in over 40 years, boosting resources to secure the border, and safeguarding hard-earned taxpayer dollars.”
