NEW JERSEY — In case you missed it, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) went on his annual 21-County Tour, hosting and attending events in all 21 New Jersey counties to hear directly from New Jerseyans and bring their priorities back to the Senate. Across the state, Booker announced new legislation to help prevent drug overdose deaths, highlighted more than $33.5 million in federal investments he helped secure, honored veterans, supported families facing food insecurity, and met with farmers, small-business owners, medical researchers, college students, and more. It’s going to bring jobs to our state, economic vitality and just ease of transportation.” Booker was at the terminal to discuss a grant through the Federal Transit Administration that will help fund construction of a second new ferry for the Delaware River and Bay Authority, which operates the ferry service. The money is part of a $665 million federal investment in ferries around the country. The latest federal grant will go toward the second hybrid vessel, said Joel Coppadge, the DRBA's Executive Director. “The $30 million will be significant.
