Mike Levin’s Statement on Charlie Kirk Resolution Washington, D.C .—Today, Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) released the following statement regarding his vote in support of H. Res. 719, the Charlie Kirk Resolution: “Political violence can never be tolerated in our democracy. That does not mean I endorse Charlie Kirk’s views or every word in the resolution. Far from it. I profoundly disagree with many of his positions and the divisive rhetoric he often used. But condemning violence is bigger than politics, party, or ideology. We can honor the principle that no American should fear for their life because of their beliefs, while still being clear that we will challenge extremist ideas through debate and democratic action. Congress should set the example by reaffirming our commitment to vigorous but peaceful debate, even with those whose views we find dangerous or harmful. This is an opportunity for both parties to bridge the gap between political division and stand together against hatred and violence.” ## Print Email Share Tweet Next Article Previous Article About Serving You News Contact Issues Privacy Policy Twitter Icon Facebook Icon Youtube Icon Bluesky Icon
