Kamlager-Dove, Salazar, Carter Launch Bipartisan MoMEntS Caucus to Champion America’s Creative and Entertainment Economy

September 16, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-CA) launched the bipartisan Movies, Music, Entertainment, & Sports (MoMEntS) Caucus , a forum to educate and engage Members of Congress on issues affecting America’s creative and entertainment economy. The caucus is co-chaired by Reps. Kamlager-Dove (D-CA), Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL), and Troy Carter (D-LA) . “America’s creative and entertainment sectors are economic powerhouses, generating more than $1 trillion each year and supporting over five million good‑paying jobs. Yet for far too long, Congress has failed to give these industries and the workers and creators who power them the attention and support they deserve,” said Rep. Kamlager-Dove . “I’m proud to represent a vibrant district at the heart of America’s creative and entertainment economy and excited to bring the voices, priorities, and perspectives of these industries directly to Congress through the bipartisan MoMEntS Caucus. Together, we will champion the people who make this economy thrive and ensure the U.S. remains a global leader in entertainment and culture.” “America has always understood the power of a great story, a great song, a great game, or a great performance,” said Rep. Salazar . “In Miami, we see that power every day, where music, television, sports, fashion, and culture come together and reach audiences across the country and throughout Latin America. I’m proud to be a founding member of the MoMEntS Caucus, which will bring lawmakers and creative industries together to better understand the challenges they face, protect creative rights, and keep American talent and innovation leading on the world stage.” “In Louisiana, creativity is woven into the fabric of our communities,” said Rep. Carter . “Art bears culture. It speaks truth to power. It tells stories, challenges injustice, sparks dialogue, builds community, and inspires hope. I’m proud to be a Co-Chair of the bipartisan MoMEntS Caucus, which provides a critical opportunity for us to prioritize America’s creative and entertainment industries, which contribute so much to our nation’s history, economy, and culture.” "Music and the broader creative economy are engines of American jobs, culture, and influence that reach every corner of the globe. With the launch of the MoMEntS Caucus, Co-Chairs Kamlager-Dove, Salazar and Carter have created a dedicated voice in Congress that will work to advance the policies that let songwriters, artists, athletes, and all creators thrive. I am proud to join today’s official launch,” said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. “Storytelling has the power to shape culture and connect people across communities,” said Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming, STARZ . “At STARZ, we believe in opportunities for talented storytellers to bring bold, distinctive stories to audiences. We aim to take the lead in driving impact that is intentional and continue to invest in opening doors for talent in front of and behind the camera. We are proud to be a day-one supporter of the bipartisan MoMEntS Caucus and look forward to working with its members to ensure the creative community continues to have a seat at the table as policies affecting our industry take shape.” "Every day on TikTok, American creators turn their ideas and passions into careers, businesses and culture that reach audiences around the world. We are proud to support the launch of the MoMEntS Caucus to help ensure America's creators can continue to innovate, grow and thrive," said Nicole Nason, Head of Public Policy at TikTok USDS Joint Venture. “Sports and entertainment are not only powerful drivers of culture—they also support job creation, generate meaningful economic impact, and bring communities together. TKO is proud to support the launch of the MoMEntS Caucus, which gives this dynamic ecosystem a stronger voice in Washington on policies that recognize the broad economic and social impact of sports, while encouraging responsible growth of the industry,” said Riché McKnight, Chief Legal Officer, TKO Group . The MoMEntS Caucus will focus on the industries that define our cultural identity and global influence, including film, television, and broadcasting; music; sports and live entertainment; fashion and beauty; gaming, esports, and interactive media; streaming and digital platforms; content creators and the influencer economy; literary and publishing; and visual and performing arts. The caucus will work to: Highlight the economic, cultural, and diplomatic importance of these industries; Advance policies that strengthen workforce pathways and protect creative rights; Support innovation, competition, and responsible platform practices; and Encourage U.S. cultural exchange and leadership on the global stage. Additional members of the MoMEntS Caucus include Reps. Joe Wilson (R-SC), André Carson (D-IN), Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (D-CA), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Ted W.
