LaHood Applauds Stellantis for Investment in Belvidere Assembly Plant and Illinois Workers

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) released the following statement after Stellantis announced an investment of more than $600 million in the Belvidere Assembly Plant. This investment will create 3,300 new jobs and support two new vehicle lines to manufacture the Jeep Compass and the Jeep Cherokee. “Stellantis’ announcement of a more than $600 million investment to reopen and expand production at the Belvidere Assembly Plant is excellent news for Belvidere and our state,” said Rep. LaHood. “This tremendous investment will bring 3,300 new high-paying jobs to northern Illinois, providing more opportunities for Illinoisans, boosting our state’s economy, and strengthening the future of American manufacturing.
