Statement from Office of Senator Hassan on the Passing of Her Mother, Peggy Wood

It is with sadness and much love and appreciation that U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan and her siblings, Franny and Frank Wood, report the death of their mother, Peggy Wood. Peggy lived a full and vibrant life, raising three children, teaching history, and later instructing teachers as they entered the profession. An avid sailor, tennis player, and gardener, she was also a committed community leader having served as the President of her local League of Women Voters, and on numerous nonprofit boards. She also dedicated much of her intellect, energy, and love to her husband, Bob Wood, whose career as a public intellectual and public servant wouldn’t have been possible without her. She was 94 years old.
