Goodlander Statement on U.S. Supreme Court Ruling on Birthright Citizenship
“The 14th Amendment to our Constitution is clear: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction therof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. Birthright citizenship is a fundamental promise of the American Dream and at the foundation of our identity as a country. America is a nation of immigrants, and the ongoing attacks we are seeing on this core promise of our country will not be met without a fight. I’m proud to help lead the charge in Congress to protect birthright citizenship and push back against these unlawful Executive Orders and actions from the Trump Administration. We are actively involved in two pending cases and will continue to file legal briefs, push legislation, and use every tool we have to protect our freedoms and the rule of law.”
