May 15, 2026 Press Release Washington, D.C. – In honor of National Police Week, Congressman Roy (R-TX) and House Republicans passed several bills this week to give law enforcement officers more tools to ensure public safety, memorialize our fallen heroes, strengthen criminal penalties for violent crime, and reinforce the men and women who serve on the front lines in communities across America. “During National Police Week, we recognize the courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. I am proud to stand with law enforcement by advancing legislation that supports officers, protects public safety, and ensures those who wear the badge know we have their backs. While too many on the Left continue to demonize police officers, Republicans remain committed to backing the blue and ensuring law enforcement has the tools and support necessary to do their jobs effectively and safely,” said Rep. Roy . Rep. Roy cosponsored and/or voted in favor of the following: H. Res. 1252 – Resolution memorializing law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, a resolution honoring the service and sacrifice peace officers display as they protect our communities from crime and disorder.
