Senators Markey and Cassidy Celebrate Committee Passage of Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Legislation

Washington (June 25, 2025) - Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), member of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, and Senator Bill Cassidy (R-La.) today celebrated the unanimous passage of theirChildren and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0)through the Commerce Committee. The legislation would update online data privacy rules for the 21st century and ensure children and teenagers are protected online.
