HYDE-SMITH STATEMENT ON MAXWELL & CHAMBERLIN NOMINATIONS TO U.S. DISTRICT COURT
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today issued the following statement regarding President Trump nominating Mississippi Supreme Court Associate Justices James D. Maxwell II of Oxford and Robert P. Chamberlin of Hernando to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi:
“I commend President Trump for selecting two very qualified judicial nominees to serve on the U.S. District Court bench, and look forward to their swift confirmation.  I believe Justice Maxwell and Justice Chamberlin have a conservative judicial philosophy and knowledge of the law that will serve our state and nation well.”
