Graham Celebrates Passage of Nearly $120 Million for South Carolina Projects in Second FY26 Funding Bill

WASHINGTON –
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) celebrated the passage of nearly $120 million in funding for South Carolina projects that he secured as part of the second Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations package. The Senate approved this legislation on Thursday, January 15 by a vote of 82 to 15.
As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Graham submitted multiple funding requests to support public safety and infrastructure projects in South Carolina and fought to have them included in the final product.
“I am pleased to support this package which funds the interests of South Carolina. The American people work hard for their money, and I believe it’s the job of elected representatives to ensure their tax dollars are put toward worthy causes,”
said Graham
. “Given increasing attacks against law enforcement officers, now more than ever, it is important for local police departments to have the tools they need to keep our streets and cities safe. Additionally, this legislation provides federal dollars to improve infrastructure and increase access to clean drinking water in our state. I believe each of these projects will improve South Carolinians’ quality of life, and I’m proud to have advocated for them.”
Below is a list of some of the South Carolina projects that Graham advocated for that will receive funding from this package:
Lancaster County Sheriff's Office: $1.2 million for police equipment
Town of Irmo: $396,000 to improve public safety
City of Myrtle Beach: $300,000 for police equipment
Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission: $4.4 million to enhance water quality
Town of Chapin: $1.6 million to upgrade drinking water infrastructure
City of North Myrtle Beach: $28 million for the construction of ocean outfalls to assist with flood management
Calhoun County and Orangeburg County: $22.5 million to expand water infrastructure
City of Charleston: $9.3 million for stormwater management
Mount Pleasant: $4.6 million for stormwater management
South Carolina Ports Authority: $500,000 for a feasibility study for navigation
