U.S. Representative Morgan Griffith
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Virginia Tech, based in Blacksburg, Virginia, a grant for $249,000. The funding supports research into families that serve as caregivers for patients with dementia. In response to this grant notice, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Dementia not only impacts patients, but family caregivers as well. “This HHS grant for $249,000 helps Virginia Tech advance research into care for those who struggle with and treat dementia.” BACKGROUND As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Congressman Griffith serves as the Chairman of the Health Subcommittee. This project will be administered by faculty of the Human Development and Family Science department at Virginia Tech. ###
