Senator Collins Receives Award for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Prevention

WASHINGTON, D.C.– This week, U.S. Senator Susan Collins was awarded the 2025 Award for Excellence in HIV/AIDS by the Global AIDS Policy Partnership and the Federal AIDS Policy Partnership. Senator Collins was recognized for her strong advocacy and leadership in protecting the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program from proposed funding cuts earlier this year.
“We have made significant progress in combating HIV/AIDS thanks to programs like PEPFAR, which has saved an estimated 26 million lives globally since 2003,”said Senator Collins.“I am proud to accept this award in recognition of my efforts to protect the PEPFAR program from proposed funding cuts, and I remain committed to strengthening this lifesaving program for years to come.”
