May 22, 2025 Reschenthaler Supports President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill WASHINGTON, D.C.— Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act : “President Donald J. Trump made a promise to the American people — he would restore our nation, secure its borders, and usher the United States into a new golden age. I am proud to support landmark legislation which fulfills this once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver the largest tax cut for the working class and provide the largest border security investment in history. Simply put, this bill is pro-worker, pro-family, and pro-small business. The time is now for President Trump’s generational leadership — House Republicans united and met the moment.” Specifically, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act does the following: Prevents a 22 percent tax hike on working families by making the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent Eliminates taxes on tips and overtime pay Provides the largest border security investment in history including hundreds of miles of border wall construction Ensures illegal immigrants do not receive taxpayer benefits Delivers the largest deficit reduction in three decades Slashes taxes on Social Security Strengthens and protects Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid Reverses anti-energy policies from the Biden Administration Bolsters our nation’s weaponry and defense systems Improves the quality of life for U.S. servicemembers View the full legislation here .
