Trump said our economy is "roaring." Really? Workers just took home their smallest share of profits in recorded history. CEOs are making 285 times what their workers make. Trump just gave a $1 TRILLION tax cut to the 1%. It’s never been clearer who Trump serves.

Too often, Republicans have refused to provide a check on Trump’s abuses of power & failed policies. That must end. I won’t stop working across the aisle to find consensus, clear the path for progress, & deliver for RI and our communities. 3/3

The reality is: On the economy, tariffs, immigration, health care, & foreign policy, Pres. Trump’s policies are deeply unpopular. Republicans must join Dems to listen to Americans, bring down costs, & make U.S. stronger, healthier, & more prosperous. 2/3

Pres. Trump has led the state of our union into a state of disrepair. I’m focused on lowering costs, strengthening education & nat’l security, ending the chaos, & ensuring RIers can afford health care, rent, energy bills, and a home. I invite the president to join me. 1/3

For all those who didn't watch tonight, allow me to summarize: The liar lied again.
- PM
Well, now that we've gotten through THAT, here's the truth: This is America and no matter what Trump wants you to believe, the power belongs to the PEOPLE. A more hopeful future for America is possible when we all speak out and stand up for what we believe in.

Whether it’s raising costs or violating our laws, Michiganders are tired of the chaos that the President is bringing to their everyday life. Unfortunately, tonight’s speech was simply an extension of what we’ve come to expect from President Trump.
- GP
Instead of calling for unity to make progress on the issues we all face as Americans, President Trump used his address to the nation to air out his personal grievances and attack those who are working to hold him accountable.
- KG
We just need four seats to take back the Senate majority, end the chaos, and keep Trump in check. Let's get it done.

Donald Trump wants you to think he’s brought back the Expanded Child Tax Credit. He hasn’t. Under his plan, 19M children will be left out of the full credit — meaning hungry kids, struggling parents, and families falling behind.

Prices up. Health insurance up. Violence and cruelty on our streets. This is the state of the union under Donald Trump. 2 hours of rambling and lies do not change that reality.
- AK
It's ironic that Trump's talking about ending wars while also bringing our country to the brink of a war that the American people do not want.

Reminder: the ‘America First,’ ‘No New Wars’ president illegally launched strikes on at least 2 countries during his first year in office and is warmongering more every day. This doesn’t make us stronger – it puts the US and our allies in greater danger.
- AK
Let's not forget: Trump's cuts to healthcare have cost you and millions of others. He's never cared about you getting sicker at the expense of himself and his billionaire donors getting richer

All the while, Trump stays focused on complaining about the Supreme Court’s decision and finding new ways to impose global tariffs that will only further strain our economy and raise prices for Americans. This is not what the American people want.
- GP
This is especially true in Michigan, where tariffs have caused uncertainty across our critical automotive sector, slowed economic growth, and threatened good-paying jobs.
- GP
Despite his claims tonight, President Trump’s chaotic tariff strategy has been an economic disaster for families and businesses across the country.

You can tell a lot about what a president cares about by what he focuses on in the State of the Union. President Trump spent more time talking about hockey than lowering the price of housing or groceries.
- EW
It's been an hour and half and Donald Trump hasn't said a single thing about child care.

As Trump rambles on, the American people are still waiting for justice and transparency on the Epstein Files. My #SOTU guest, Dani Bensky, was a victim of abuse by Jeffrey Epstein, and like so many of her fellow survivors, she’s not standing down in the fight for justice:

Walked out of the State of the Union because I couldn’t sit through hours of Trump’s lies. Americans know the truth: he’s spiking prices and wrecking our economy. We’re a better country than this.
- CS
Aleshandra Fernandes is another one of my guests at tonight’s State of the Union. She’s a union ironworker on offshore wind projects on Long Island. Thanks to Trump’s attempts to shutter offshore wind projects, she no longer feels secure in her livelihood.

Trump just rambled on about Iran, but you didn’t hear anything about a plan or a strategy. That’s because he put American lives on the line, but there is no plan. There is no strategy.
- AK
As a reminder, the American people pay for Trump's tariffs, not foreign countries. Give the people their money back.

Today marks four years since Russia launched its full-spectrum invasion of Ukraine, and Trump is still both-sidesing this war. Russia is the aggressor. Ukraine is fighting for its survival, and we need to stand with them. This isn’t hard.

Prices are up, and families are struggling because Trump’s tariffs raised their bills by more than $1,000 last year. He just lost at the Supreme Court and doubled down on tariffs anyway. Trump can’t admit when he’s wrong, and Americans are literally paying the price.

For all his promises of peace, Trump has left America more isolated and the world more dangerous.
- MB
In one year, President Trump has ordered military action against seven countries and deployed federal troops to American cities without Congressional approval. He has undermined NATO, the most successful alliance in history and alienated key U.S. allies with his tariffs.
- MK
Prices are not “down” for Americans. While Trump and his billionaire friends get richer, working families are stretching every dollar to cover food, rent, and gas. He needs to come back to reality and work with us to actually bring down costs.

Well, Donald Trump has said one thing so far that is true: We need to ban stock trading in Congress. I’ve been fighting for years to get it done. Just need Republicans to put it up for a vote.
- MB
Tonight, Trump is trying to sow distrust in our public elections. The SAVE America Act will only make it harder for millions of American citizens — women, rural voters, seniors — to vote. The SAVE America ACT is voter suppression. We won't stand for it.
- CH
While Trump praises ICE, remember, this is what they’re doing on our streets. He’s not making our communities safer, his private army is terrorizing them.

Donald Trump isn’t serious about lowering health care costs. He passed a law that will kick 15 million people off of their health insurance.
- AK
Trump claims he's lowering prescription drug prices, but that simply isn't true.

No matter what Trump says, ICE is killing people, separating families, and denying constitutional rights. We all see it with our own eyes.
- CC
FEMA has billions of dollars in its account. Republicans gave more money to ICE than to the Marines. What Trump is saying about the shutdown just isn’t true–the Department of Homeland Security has plenty of money.
- PM
Trump announcing a war on fraud is like a criminal announcing a war on crime.
- CC
Americans do want Trump to focus on deporting violent criminals – but fewer than 15% of those Trump has deported fit the bill, according to his own DHS. That’s why Trump’s deportation agenda is more unpopular than ever.
- AK
I don't know one person who thinks grocery prices are down right now. American families are struggling with these high prices.

President Trump says he wants Wall Street and private equity out of housing. Democrats have a bill to do exactly that – and boost affordable housing and homeownership. Will he support it?
- CH
Trump says he got ‘pledges’ from Big Tech to pay for the electricity costs of their own data centers. So, his plan is to just trust Big Tech to do the right thing? If he’s serious, he should work with us to pass my Power for the People Act to make these protections LAW.
- EW
Trump is lying. Coffee is up 18.3% Ground beef is up 17.2% Cereal is up 6.2 Bananas are up 5.4% Fish is up 5.1% Cookies are up 5%

This BS about lowering costs is rich coming from the guy who kicked millions of Americans off their health insurance, spiked premiums for over 20 MILLION Americans, & called the concept of making life more affordable for working people, a ‘hoax.’
- JR
Here’s the truth: Trump and Washington Republicans slashed Medicaid and let the ACA enhanced premium tax credits expire, and millions of Americans will lose their health care as a result. Don’t listen to what Trump says about health care – look at what he’s done.
- JH
Trump has had “concepts of a plan” to address health care for over a decade at this point. Yet, he kicked millions of Americans off their health insurance and DOUBLED costs for millions more. We need health care that is affordable, accessible, and universal.
- CC
President Trump can spend as much time talking about his health care plan as he wants, but in the end, it boils down to one thing: you pay more.
- CH
Trump stole $1,700 from the average American family with his illegal tariff tax. It’s been 30 minutes. He hasn’t once mentioned how he is going to pay back your hard-earned money.
- MB
Our priority should be expanding access to health care for our families. That’s why I will always fight against Republican efforts to cut Medicaid, take away ACA benefits, and strip funding and resources from rural hospitals.
