I was at the White House Correspondents Dinner tonight when shots rang out. I’m so grateful for Secret Service and the law enforcement agents who rapidly responded to the situation and guaranteed the safety of everyone in attendance. (1/2)

Thank you to law enforcement for stopping the gunman at tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Political violence has no place in America. Praying for healing in our nation.
- JH
Appalled by the shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner. A night meant to celebrate the First Amendment was disrupted by political violence, which has no place in America. Grateful to the Secret Service and law enforcement who acted quickly and bravely to save lives.
- AK
Glad everyone—including the President and the First Lady and all journalists—are safe at the White House Correspondents’ dinner.
- MH
I am extremely grateful to law enforcement for acting so quickly at today’s Correspondents’ Dinner, and relieved to hear that all in attendance are unharmed. But let me be clear: this violence is unacceptable, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Violence has no place in our democracy.
- TD

Even in the most divided of times, violence has no place. It’s time we realize that we’re a part of something bigger than any one of us, and come together as Americans to denounce such horrific actions. 2/2
- AK
I’m shocked by images and first hand accounts of a shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner. The level of threats and violence fueled by a broken politics is disturbing and unacceptable. 1/2

Working people are being ground to the bone just to afford to live. And Secretary Bessent’s advice is to dig a little deeper to feel good about paying more? It’s insulting. Americans are not stupid.

This week, I met with NJ leaders from @NNA_US to discuss their work in helping New Jerseyans become homeowners, repairing homes, and managing rentals. It was great to hear how I can help them take on the housing crisis and support their critical work for New Jersey.

The National Science Board should be guided by science, not political science. Firing independent experts is a major blow to American innovation and discovery.

The Beltsville Agricultural Research Center helps farmers feed our country. Now the Trump Admin is trying to shutter it. This move isn't just wrong, it’s against the law — going against legislation we passed last year to protect it. We will fight this every step of the way.

Moms in Seattle aren't up at night wondering if ICE has enough money to break car windows and deport veterans. They're worried about rent, groceries, and child care. Yet, this week, in the middle of the night, Republicans raced to unlock $70 billion for ICE and did NOTHING to help lower costs.

It's almost like the President is trying to make your life more expensive. Yet, Trump grades the economy an "A+++++" Maybe if you're one of his billionaire buddies.

On the campaign trail, Trump made a lot of promises to Nevada’s workers and small businesses about lowering costs. But now, restaurant owners are being strained as food prices climb under his tariffs and chaotic actions.

Americans should hear Afghan allies’ stories of suffering & hardship, separation & anxiety. They should shock our conscience. Thank you @shawnjvandiver.bsky.social & @afghanevac.bsky.social for leading this “virtual CODEL” & giving them voice & face.

America must keep its promises to Afghan allies, & families, living in this country or abroad in Doha camps. A great nation keeps its promises. We’ll have no allies in the future if we break our word now.

They’re living in intolerable conditions of deprivation & depression, & threatened with deportation to the Congo or Afghanistan where they face torture & death.

My heart breaks, as I listen to stories of Afghan allies, who put their lives on the line to protect our troops, on a call arranged by @afghanevac.bsky.social.

Insurance companies are required to provide comparable coverage for mental & physical health—restrictive requirements violate parity laws & make it harder for people to access care. Proud that CT is holding these companies accountable—we must do so nationwide. www.ctinsider.com/connecticut/...

Trump’s spending more time as a DC decorator than a president. Costs are skyrocketing. Trump started another endless war. We need a leader focused on the American people, not decorating DC. What a joke.

The American people don’t want endless war. That’s why I’ve teamed up with other Democrats on War Powers Resolutions to rein in Trump’s illegal war with Iran. We will keep forcing votes until this passes.

Nevada has been safely regulating cannabis for years. Rescheduling medical cannabis at the national level is a step in the right direction, but we still need to do more to correct outdated cannabis policies on a federal level, and I’ll keep working across party lines in the Senate to do so.

The Trump Admin has been slow walking DACA renewal and work permit processing. Now it is paving the way for them to be deported even before their DACA expires. Congress must finally act to protect these young people who know no other home. This is a matter of simple American fairness & justice.

Many Americans can’t afford health care and housing. Yet Trump can’t even stay awake at his own “affordability” event. We need to get serious about lowering costs.

We need a budget that PROTECTS OUR PUBLIC LANDS. Trump is planning to cut 3,000 National Park staff–and this is after a quarter of staff were pushed out ALREADY. I told Secretary Burgum that’s a recipe for disaster and I’ll be throwing Trump’s budget right in the trash and writing a new one.

The Trump Admin admits that its projections of how many tourists would come to the US after he took office were way off. Now World Cup fans are picking games in Mexico & Canada over the U.S. & it’s not hard to guess why. He is driving people away and hurting our economy.
