Happy #SharkWeek! Sharks don’t lie: Climate change is real and as ocean temperatures rise, more species of sharks are making the trek up from Florida to New England.

Article I Section 8 of the Constitution makes clear that Congress, and ONLY Congress, has the power to declare war. Trump decided to go to war with Iran exclusively on his own, and we are all paying the price.

The head of Trump’s IRS told Congress he “felt good” about IRS staffing after the Trump administration fired or pushed out nearly 30,000 workers. But now, the IRS is racing to hire thousands back—while Americans wait longer for help. I’m pressing for answers.

Science is real. Food safety inspections matter. It was unwise for Trump to fire the hardworking federal employees who safeguard America’s food system.

It's great to see New Jersey honored in this way for the first time in 125 years. What an accomplishment! 2/2

It was wonderful to see Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties at the Capitol this week. Thank you for bringing hope and mentorship to over 5,000 New Jersey students and congratulations on receiving the 2026 Agency of the Year award. 1/2

Two million Michiganders rely on Social Security. The Trust Fund is projected to run out in 2032, and Congress has bipartisan options to fix it. I break it down.

After hearing concerns from hundreds of Granite Staters who live in manufactured housing communities, I pressed Sado Capital, owner of The Meadows of Hopkinton, for answers. Residents say the company has hiked rents and undermined their financial future.

As costs continue to rise, Trump is cutting a Medicare program that helps seniors afford their medications. This year the program cost less than 2 days of Trump's Iran war. This isn't about money, it's about priorities & Trump is showing us his.

When private equity treats hospitals like assets to strip instead of places to heal, patients like Chelsea Adolphus pay the price. We saw it with Steward here in MA. Congress must pass my Health Over Wealth Act now to rein in reckless private equity in healthcare.

That does not make us safe. We want the military to be the best fighting force it can be, and it can’t do that when its morale is being tested and people are leaving.
- ES
So, between morale and loss of qualified senior enlisted and senior officers, we are seeing a real change in our military that's affecting things not just at the top level, but also all the way down to our most junior officers.

... No one’s ever going to give me a merit-based promotion and so maybe I’ll retire. Maybe I’ll get out early.”
- ES
I’m hearing young people, particularly young women and young officers of color, who are saying to me, “I planned to be in the military for 20 or 30 years, but now I feel like there is going to be a ceiling on me succeeding in this institution....
- ES
I am hearing from a ton of people who have been career military officers who are saying, “look if anyone of color or if every woman is being stripped out of these lists, how am I to understand who and how can get promoted.”
- ES
What I am hearing about from folks in uniform is a new secret vetting process where people in the Department of Defense are looking at someone’s social media history. Looking at whether they attended a Pride event or posted something on their personal Facebook page about Martin Luther King Day.
- ES
Just this year, 40 military officers have been forcibly removed from those promotion lists. Over half of them are either women, or people of color. There seems to be a pointed effort to get rid of people who are not white men who are on the promotion list by merit.
- ES
What is happening inside the military with promotions and firings: We have a ton of people who are being removed from promotion lists. They’re being recommended by those in uniform, and they are being stripped out by Pete Hegseth.
- JR
Today I cast my 13th vote against Pres. Trump’s reckless Iran war. Trump & Sec. Hegseth were wrong from the get go. Their failures & weakness are why munitions are low & prices are high. Senate GOP need to stop shielding Trump from accountability & start listening to Americans.

61 years ago today, Medicare and Medicaid became law. In Massachusetts and across the country, they've meant the difference between care and catastrophe for millions of families. I am proud to keep fighting for both—today and always.

As Governor, I'll put primary care first and make it easier for Minnesotans to get the care they need.
- AK
Dr. Dave Thorson is a family physician. He knows firsthand that primary care catches problems early, before they become a crisis. But our system too often makes people wait until they need the ER instead.

President Trump wants immunity from IRS audits for himself so badly that he's willing to pull his own nominee for Attorney General over it. Let that sink in.

Trump promised he’d lock up the “worst of the worst.” Instead, he locked up a teenager who should’ve been celebrating his high school graduation.

Tens of millions of Americans can't afford the basics, and they want the Washington to do something about the affordability crisis. Trump's response? Using the presidency to boost his family's crypto business. No wonder 55% of voters disapprove of Trump's crypto earnings.

Every kid deserves a high-quality education. But Trump and Secretary McMahon want to dismantle the Department of Education and hand really important services, like special ed programs, to RFK Jr.'s HHS. Our kids, especially those with special needs, deserve better.

More than 15,000 low-income families in Washington rely on the Child Care and Development Fund. Today, Senate Republicans voted to keep a Trump Administration policy that will make childcare more expensive and less accessible for many of those families. (1/2)

The war in Iran is driving up costs here at home. If and when the Strait of Hormuz opens up, and global shipping is resumed it will be important to hold oil and gas companies accountable and make sure gas prices are again coming down.

Trump would rather withdraw Blanche's nomination than give up his slush fund for Jan 6 rioters & his sweetheart immunity deal that prevents anyone from scrutinizing his, his family's, or his businesses' taxes. Tells you what this nomination was really about: protecting Trump.

Today marks the 61st anniversary of Medicare & Medicaid, the backbone of our health care system. While Trump & Republicans slash these vital programs, I will continue to support bold ideas like Medicare for All to ensure every American has access to the care they need.
- AS
Apparently, it’s not that important for Trump to have an Attorney General. Certainly, not if it conflicts with his ability to protect himself from tax audit or investigation, or to reward friends, cronies and insurrectionists with taxpayer funds. It’s always about him. Never about you.

Rural hospitals across Minnesota are on the brink & Trump’s Medicaid cuts are making it worse. Rachelle Schultz of Winona Health knows that rural hospitals need a leader who fights to protect the care Greater Minnesota depends on. As Governor, I’ll make sure Minnesotans can get the care they need.

"It's a big, gigantic, blown-up Ponzi scheme." THAT is what a Senate Republican said on the floor just yesterday. At a time when Social Security is facing insolvency, we need to fight to SAVE Social Security now and for future generations. NO cuts, NO privatization.
