When businesses and families are working to rebuild after devastating storms, they deserve an agency that delivers results. Just in the short time I’ve been in the Senate, I’ve worked hard to facilitate the return of $1.7 billion in reimbursements to the state through FEMA and passed legislation into law that provides accountability in the reimbursement process. As hurricane season continues, I will continue working to ensure FEMA is accountable, responsive, and focused on helping rebuild our communities impacted by natural disasters,” said Senator Ashley Moody. BACKGROUND: Senator Moody is dedicated to securing disaster recovery funds for Florida communities impacted by hurricanes and natural disasters. During his tenure as the Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullin has worked closely with Senator Moody to reimburse 467 FEMA projects thus far, providing the State of Florida with over $847 million in federal assistance . Disaster recoveries for Florida have now reached $1.7 billion. As the hurricane season continues, Senator Moody is committed to improving accountability and ensuring communities receive timely support.
